Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, analyse, and translate software requirements into technical specifications and actionable plans.
  • Develop, test, and maintain high-quality software applications, following established coding standards and best practices.
  • Write clean, well-structured code across the software stack.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of software components, emphasising scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Participate actively in code reviews, offering valuable insights to maintain and elevate code quality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects, employing effective debugging techniques.
  • Collaborate closely with QA teams to devise and execute comprehensive testing strategies, ensuring robust software functionality.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, particularly those relevant to JavaScript and TypeScript, to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Effectively communicate technical concepts and project updates to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Play a proactive role in software development initiatives, contributing ideas, insights, and collaborating on process improvements.
  • Perform any additional duties as required by the employer to support the software development team and projects.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of experience in software development.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript programming languages.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Experience with front-end and/or back-end web application development using JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and services within the JavaScript/TypeScript context.
  • Understanding of software testing methodologies and tools relevant to JavaScript and TypeScript.
